Solar Power Plant

The German company Kirchner Solar-Group will spend more than US$100 million to install a solar energy project in Monte Plata (east), to produce 200 megawatts to the National Interconnected Electrical System in the next three years.
In the first stage the group will install a 30 megawatt plant within six months starting in October, said Group president Lars Kirchner. “This project will place Monte Plata province and the country on the world map of nations that are taking firm steps to meet the challenges of the Millennium.”
The executive said the work will spur the region’s development and create around 500 fixed and indirect jobs.
Kirchner said the private capital investment will improve the country’s power system, with cleaner and cheaper energy, which would be sold to the State-owned Power Companies

Sosua, Dominican Republic

Sosua Bay is often referred to as the Acapulco of the Dominican Republic. With its long sandy beach, gentle ocean breeze and the calm warm waters, Sosua Bay is one of the most visited beaches on the North coast. Over looking the bay is La Piedra, one of the most exquisite pieces of real estate on the island. Due to its unique position, high up on the cliffs, the area of La Piedra is rapidly becoming one of the most sought after pieces of real estate on the North coast. With spectacular views over the bay of Sosua to the East and Mount Isabel de Torres to the West, and the proposed fully equipped marina directly in front, it is not hard to imagine that this proposed development will become the gem of the North coast. From luxurious condominiums, town houses and hotels, to its exiting new marina, La Piedra will rapidly become one of the real estate hot spots in the Caribbean. In true Caribbean style the ‘Village’, with its shopping plaza, restaurants and cafes will be painted in soft pastels. The walkways and garden areas will be lined with coconut trees and tropical flowers. The village will be the ideal location for the family to spend a quality day out, roaming the ‘Village, spending the afternoon on the beach and admiring the luxurious yachts slipping into the marina.

The marina opens Sosua to those wishing to sail down from Florida which is only approximately 750 miles, (651 nautical miles) from the coast of Sosua. The marina is ideally situated only 5 minutes from down town Sosua, with its large selection of international restaurants and vibrant nightlife, 10 minutes from down town Cabarete, offering some of the best water sports in the world, 30 minutes from Puerto Plata and only 5 minutes from the busy Puerto Plata International airport. The new marina would be the gateway for adventurous thrill seekers looking for extreme sports including kite boarding, zip lining, parasailing and much more.

Sosua now has a brand new state of the art medical centre that has enhanced the infrastructure of the Sosua / Cabarete area. Previously patients would have to travel to Puerto Plata for medical attention but now this is no longer necessary. The medical centre has brand new equipment that will match any found in North American or European hospitals. All the doctors have extensive medical practice, some having practiced in the United States. There are numerous North American and European physicians on the staff making this the most advanced medical centre on the North coast. Other projects include the now completed casino and conference center, the renovation of some of the largest hotels in Sosua and heavy construction in the town centre.

With more and more infrastructure now is the best time to invest in real estate in Sosua. Prices are still some of the most affordable in the entire Caribbean. Take a look at our selection of properties for sale in Sosua and Cabarete: www.ambercoastrealty.com
